… and that’s how the journey actually went: It remained with 7 countries: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya (instead of Rwanda) and Uganda
.… und so verlief die Reise tatsächlich: Zugunsten der Serengeti, des Ngorongoro-Kraters und der Maasai Mara haben wir auf Ruanda und die Nähe zum Kongo verzichtet. Auch wenn wir den Victoria-See damit im Osten statt im Westen „umrundet“ haben, blieb es aber bei 7 Ländern: Südafrika, Simbabwe, Sambia, Malawi, Tansania, Kenia (statt Ruanda) und Uganda.
And the 77 days remained as well. When they were over, we had more than 7,700 km extra on the speedometer. For those of you who have difficulties to imagine that distance: Transferred to your home continents, this corresponds roughly to the following routes:
- Lisbon – Athens – Moscow (Europe)
- Mumbai – Singapore (Asia)
- Seattle – Boston – Miami (North America)
- Bogota – Montevideo (South America)
- Half of a round trip (Australia)
Und es blieb auch bei 77 Tagen. Als sie vorbei waren, hatten wir gut 7.700 km mehr auf dem Tacho. Und wer sich das schlecht vorstellen kann: Übertragen auf Eure Heimat-Kontinente entspricht das in etwa den Strecken
- Lissabon – Athen – Moskau (Europa)
- Mumbai – Singapur (Asien)
- Seattle – Boston – Miami (Nordamerika)
- Bogota – Montevideo (Südamerika)
- Eine halbe Umrundung (Australien)
