We, that’s not only Eleonore and Walter but also a Toyota Landcruiser: Our bush taxi, called Toyo. Built 1989 and already experienced on roads and regions without roads on each and every continent!
He (or she? … an ongoing discussion) is accompanied by two other Landcruisers – one driven by Martina & Ernst (a friend in adventurous travelling already when we were students and the cars were yellow VW Beetles) and the other one by our Swiss friend Moni.
By the way: The Toyos of Ernst and mine are not only both 27 years old but have the same roof construction. We realized it only when both bush taxis stood side by side.
Here we are: (Believe me, there exists no other picture with all five of us in front of the camera. Seems we are not the selfie generation.)
Wir. Auf unserer Tour. Wir, das sind nicht nur Lore und Walter, sondern auch der, ohne den nichts gehen würde: unser Toyota Landcruiser, auch Busch-Taxi oder kurz Toyo. Baujahr 1989 und beim Erstbesitzer gestählt auf allen Kontinenten dieser Erde.
Er (oder ist es doch eine Sie?) ist in Begleitung von zwei anderen Landcruisern (der Kelch der LandRover ist also an uns vorüber gegangen), der „Alten Dame“ von Martina und Ernst (mit dem wir schon gemeinsam die berühmt-berüchtigten Nachtfahrten nach Portugal in gelben Käfern erlebt haben) sowie der Power-Maschine von Moni, unsere Schweizer Röschdi- und Totabeinli-Lieferantin.
Leider ist es uns nicht gelungen, während unseres Angola-Trips ein gemeinsames Foto der oberen Körperhälften zu schießen …
