End of turning upside down …
One of these Nobel Prize Laureates was once a guest at the GEC (Merck’s Global Executive Conference) speaking about the prospects for Africa. I had the honour to take care of him for two days: Frederik Willem de Klerk. He ended Apartheid in South Africa transformed the country into a non-racial democracy and released Nelson Mandela. Together they won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. Never before and never afterwards I have been so close to human history. Probably the most impressive encounter in my whole career.
And we did an interview with FAZ. The only one in my career where three (3!) senior journalists showed up. Perhaps I can add it here later …
